Court Rejects Sudha Kongara’s Interim Plea

Director Sudha Kongara has suffered a setback in the Madras High Court after it refused to stop the release of Idhayam Murali.

She had asked the court to delay the film release claiming that producer Dawn Pictures still owes her Rs. 8.39 crore as part of her remuneration for Parasakthi.

According to Sudha she was promised Rs. 17.70 crore, including GST but has received only Rs. 9.31 crore so far.

The court ruled that the payment dispute cannot be used to stop the release of another film and allowed Idhayam Murali to release as planned.

However the case over her pending payment will continue in court, and the legal battle is still ongoing.
